Cemento Dark Grey 5.8 and 9mm Porcelain Ceramic: Strong Aesthetics and High Durability

Cemento Dark Grey 20mm Rectified Porcelain Ceramic is a high-segment surface covering material developed to meet both aesthetic expectations and high technical performance requirements in modern architecture. Bringing together the industrial and raw texture of dark gray concrete with the unbreakable and wear-resistant structure of porcelain, this ceramic collection offers seamless visual integrity in large areas with 60x60 cm and 60x120 cm size options.

These specially produced porcelain tiles, which have a thickness of 20 mm (2 cm), have a load-bearing capacity many times higher than standard 9 mm or 10 mm ceramics. For this reason, they are easily preferred not only in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic but also in parking lots open to vehicle traffic, outdoor areas of commercial enterprises, and public spaces.

Superior Technical Values and Engineering Standards

Our Cemento Dark Grey 20mm series is produced by pressing the glazed and body structure under high pressure to fully comply with international ISO and EN standards. The main parameters that reveal the technical quality of the product are as follows:

  • Water Absorption Rate (ISO 10545-3): ≤ 0.5% (BIa class). Thanks to its very low porosity structure, it does not absorb water, is completely resistant to frost, and does not crack during winter months.
  • Breaking Strength (ISO 10545-4): ≥ 10,000 N. This value, which is well above standard tiles, eliminates the risk of breakage and bending under heavy loads.
  • Bending Strength: ≥ 45 N/mm². Ideal for areas requiring high mechanical resistance.
  • Slip Resistance (DIN 51130 / DIN 51097): It has R11 and Class C slip resistance ratings. It minimizes the risk of slipping and falling by providing maximum grip on wet, inclined, or water-contact floors.
  • Abrasion Resistance (PEI): With a PEI 4-5 level, it maintains its first-day surface texture even in areas with extreme pedestrian traffic.
  • Rectified Edge Tolerance: Thanks to the precise laser cutting (rectification) process, edge angles and dimensional deviations are at the +/- 0.3 mm level. This feature allows you to achieve a near-jointless look with minimal joint gaps such as 1-2 mm.
  • Chemical and Stain Resistance (ISO 10545-13/14): Resistant to household chemicals, pool chlorine, acidic cleaners, and oil stains (Class 5).

Flexible and Practical Application Options

One of the biggest advantages provided by 20 mm porcelain ceramics is that they are fully compatible with dry installation techniques as well as traditional mortar installation:

  • Raised Flooring (Pedestal) System: Can be placed on adjustable plastic feet without using adhesive. It is the ideal solution for terrace and balcony projects that require passing installations, cables, and water drains under the floor.
  • Dry Installation on Grass and Sand: It can be laid directly on grass, sand, or gravel in garden walkways or landscape areas without using any mortar or cement. It can be easily relocated when desired.
  • Traditional Adhesive Application: It can be fixed to the concrete floor with high-performance porcelain ceramic mortar in garage entrances and floors with vehicle traffic.

Usage Areas and Architectural Harmony

Cemento Dark Grey achieves perfect harmony with minimalist, industrial, and modern architectural concepts with the deep and characteristic tones of dark gray. The main areas of use are:

  • Balconies, terraces, and roof gardens
  • Garden walkways, verandas, and patio areas
  • Pool edges, sunbathing areas, and wet spaces
  • Hotel, restaurant, and cafe outdoor seating areas
  • Parking lots, garage entrances, and vehicle display areas
  • Shopping malls and commercial building entrances

Maintenance and Cleaning Tips

Thanks to its low water absorption rate and stain-resistant surface technology, the maintenance of Cemento Dark Grey is extremely effortless. For daily cleaning, only water and neutral detergents are sufficient. It does not require heavy chemicals that leave residue on the surface or special polishing processes. It can be cleaned quickly in outdoor areas with high-pressure water spray machines.
